Venezia FC defeats SK Rapid Wien in twinning anniversary friendly

Venezia FC and SK Rapid Wien celebrated the 26th anniversary of their historic club twinning with an international friendly match at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo. Venezia secured a 1-0 victory, with the winning goal scored by German striker Lauberbach in the 13th minute.

To commemorate the partnership, which began on January 15, 2000, both clubs released special limited-edition jerseys designed in cooperation with their fan groups. Venezia wore a black Unione jersey featuring a diamond jacquard pattern and combined crests of the lion of Saint Mark and the Austrian eagle. SK Rapid wore a white Unione shirt featuring architectural illustrations of Venice and Vienna, including the Doge's Palace and St. Stephen's Cathedral. These bespoke designs were made available through Venezia's official stores.
