Venezia football fan club created inside Venice prison

A symbolic supporters club for Serie A side Venezia was launched inside the Casa Circondariale di Venezia. The initiative was announced in the prison’s inmate magazine Ponti and is presented as a tool for re‑education under article 27 of the Italian Constitution, which emphasises rehabilitation over punishment.

Club members plan to share match updates, seek a pay‑TV subscription to watch games live, hold discussions on the history of Venetian football and, when permitted, travel to Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Organisers hope the collective passion will foster responsibility, relational skills and a sense of belonging to the wider community.
