Venezia retains Giovanni Stroppa as head coach

Venezia has decided to retain Giovanni Stroppa as head coach despite a difficult start to the season. The club opted for continuity following a period of internal debate regarding potential managerial changes.

Stroppa remains in his position after the team suffered five consecutive league defeats and six total losses across all competitions. While several candidates such as Paolo Zanetti and Alberto Gilardino were considered, and others like Riccardo D’Aversa and Igor Tudor declined proposals, the club chose to support the manager who led the team to promotion last season.

The upcoming international break will serve as a critical period for Stroppa to implement tactical adjustments and address mental lapses within the squad. The technical staff intends to utilize this pause to work on concentration and integrate returning players, such as Filip Bašić and Ridle Bella-Kotchap, though the team will still face absences due to international duties.
