Veneziano Vital seeks right of reply in Electoral Justice

Senator and reelection candidate Veneziano Vital has filed a request with the Electoral Justice system for a right of reply against a report published by Folha de S. Paulo. The report alleged that R$ 210 million in parliamentary amendments were directed to companies linked to a former staff member of his office.

Vital’s legal team argues that the news outlet practiced selective omission, claiming the report deliberately excluded content that contradicts the narrative of irregularity. The defense is requesting that Folha de S. Paulo publish their full response with equal prominence to the original article and provide the complete email sent by the senator’s office prior to publication.
