Venezuela acquires heavy machinery to boost gold production

The Venezuelan government has begun receiving a large shipment of heavy machinery intended to revitalize the country's mining sector. During a recent announcement, President Delcy Rodríguez confirmed the arrival of 41 surface units at the El Chocó plant in Bolívar state. This initial delivery is part of a broader state acquisition of over 544 pieces of equipment, including drilling, underground, mobile, and naval machinery, coordinated by the Corporación Venezolana de Minería (CVM).

Minister of Ecological Mining Development Héctor Silva stated that these tools are part of the ‘Plan Venezuela Renace’ to increase production capacity. The government aims to have 60% of the total purchase arrived by the end of the year. The new fleet is expected to optimize processes from the drilling phase to the transport of minerals, ensuring a steady supply for processing plants.

Rodríguez indicated that the increased gold production is intended to strengthen international reserves, boost exports, and fund social projects. The administration is also evaluating international alliances to further expand the sector's operational capacity.
