Venezuela activates medical specialty service for military women

President Delcy Rodríguez inaugurated the Servicio Integral de Especialidades Médicas para la Mujer at the Hospital Militar Universitario Dr. Carlos Arvelo in Caracas. This new medical facility is specifically designed to provide specialized healthcare for women within the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

Directed by Livia Josefina Castillo, the center includes seven consultation rooms, a cytopathology laboratory, oncology rooms, mammography, mastology, and gynecology services. The facility also features telemedicine, endocrinology, psychology, internal medicine, and nutrition services, alongside an operating room, recovery areas, and hospitalization rooms.

The medical team consists of 20 specialists, 4 healthcare professionals, 12 nurses, and 10 technicians. The launch coincides with the third anniversary of the ‘Gran Mision Venezuela Mujer’, a national initiative aimed at coordinating public policies for the protection, empowerment, and integral development of women across Venezuela.
