Venezuela and Suriname strengthen tourism and transport ties

Venezuela and Suriname are working to expand bilateral cooperation in the tourism and transportation sectors. Venezuelan Ambassador to Suriname, Ayerim Flores Rivas, met with Suriname’s Minister of Transport, Communications, and Tourism, Raymond Landveld, in Paramaribo to review strategic areas for development.

The discussions aim to fulfill objectives set during a recent bilateral cooperation agreement. As part of these efforts, the Venezuelan government has formally invited Suriname to participate in the XIX International Tourism Fair of Venezuela (Fitven 2026), scheduled for December 4–6 in Caracas.

In the Venezuelan state of Apure, the National Institute of Tourism (Inatur) has also launched a technical deployment across several municipalities. This initiative provides specialized advisory services to tourism service providers regarding the National Tourism Registry (RTN), licensing, and legal regularization to ensure service quality and formalize the regional sector.
