Venezuela reshuffles diplomatic and energy leadership amid G20 talks

Venezuela is undergoing significant diplomatic and energy sector restructuring. Acting President Delcy Rodríguez has announced several high-level appointments, including the designation of Raúl LiCausi as Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium. Other key appointments include Andrea Gabriela Corao as head of Venexporta, Carlos Amador Pérez as Vice Minister for the Caribbean, Eduardo Antonio Ramírez as Vice Minister for Asia and Oceania, and Radamés Gómez Azuaje as Vice Minister of Hydrocarbon Geopolitics.

Simultaneously, a Venezuelan delegation led by Hydrocarbons Minister Paula Henao is participating in the G20 energy meetings in Houston, Texas. The U.S. administration has expressed interest in Venezuela's role in global energy security, with the White House anticipating the signing of new oil agreements between the Venezuelan government and the U.S. energy industry this week. This follows a recent agreement granting Washington access to 20% of Venezuela's crude reserves.

In a separate diplomatic development, Gilles Bertrand has arrived in Caracas to assume his role as the new European Union Ambassador to Venezuela, marking a step toward normalizing bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation.
