Latin American currencies face volatility against the US dollar

Latin American economies are experiencing significant currency fluctuations against the US dollar. In Argentina, the wholesale dollar has broken the 1,500 peso barrier, reaching 1,510 pesos, while the blue dollar remains around 1,540 to 1,560 pesos. The market is closely watching financial maturities and central bank interventions.

In Colombia, the peso has strengthened significantly, with the TRM trading near 3,056 pesos. While this helps contain inflation and lowers import costs, it has raised concerns among exporters and the tourism sector regarding reduced local currency income.

In Mexico, the peso saw a slight depreciation to 16.95 per dollar due to global dollar strength and trade uncertainties involving the US and Canada. Meanwhile, in Bolivia, the official dollar rate saw a slight increase to 11.54 bolivianos after a period of decline. In Venezuela, the official exchange rate was reported at 784.66 bolívares per dollar.
