Venezuela National Assembly releases list of 127 judicial committee applicants

The Venezuelan National Assembly has released a list of 127 citizens who applied to join the Judicial Nominations Committee. This committee is tasked with evaluating and preselecting candidates for the 32 magistracy positions within the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ).

According to Deputy Luis Florido, the number of applicants significantly exceeded the initial expectations of 50 to 60. Due to this high volume, officials noted that the evaluation and interview process will likely take longer than originally scheduled to ensure a thorough verification of credentials.

The final committee will be composed of 23 members: 11 deputies from the National Assembly and 12 representatives from civil society. This judicial renewal process is part of a broader political dialogue monitored by the United States, aimed at restructuring the country's judicial system.
