Venezuela declares Tren de Aragua gang expelled following US‑backed kill of leader

Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said the transnational criminal organization Tren de Aragua has been driven out of Venezuela, leaving only one figure after the recent death of its alleged leader Héctor Guerrero, known as “Niño Guerrero.”

The United States announced that a joint U.S.–Venezuelan raid in the mining state of Bolívar killed Guerrero, an operation described by President Donald Trump as swift and lethal. Interim President Delcy Rodríguez confirmed the mission used specialized technology and intelligence cooperation. The strike occurred two months after Venezuela approved a new mining law opening the sector to foreign investors.
