FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup: Venezuela and Mexico secure vital comeback wins

In the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco, Venezuela and Mexico both secured crucial victories to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.

Venezuela staged an epic comeback against Zambia, winning 3-2. After falling behind twice to goals from Precious Mwape and Grace Phiri, the Venezuelan side equalized through Ariana Ojeda and Orliany Durán. The match was decided in stoppage time (90+9') by a spectacular bicycle kick from Andrea Suárez. Despite the win, Venezuela will face Japan in their final group match without starting goalkeeper Valeria Rebanales, who was sent off.

Mexico also overcame an early deficit to defeat Chile 3-1. After Catalina Muñoz scored for Chile in the 12th minute, Mexico responded with goals from Mia Urbano, Citlalli Reyes, and Nicole Jiménez. This victory places Mexico second in Group F, ahead of Chile and Australia. Mexico's final group match will be against Australia, where a win or a favorable draw could secure their passage to the Round of 16.
