Venezuela disaster spurs 3D‑printed brace campaign in Argentina and aid hub in Spain

A Venezuelan living in San Rafael, Argentina, has launched a campaign to produce 3D‑printed medical braces using biodegradable PLA filament. The initiative calls on community members with 3D printers to create braces for children and adults injured in the recent Venezuelan catastrophe, with the supplies to be sent via the Grupo Fénix rescue organization on its next humanitarian trip.

In Huelva, Spain, a room adjoining the emergency department of Hospital Infanta Elena has been turned into a collection point for diapers, medical supplies, food, clothing and other necessities. Coordinated by the Association of Venezuelan Doctors in Spain, the effort gathers donations from local residents, schools and businesses and ships them directly to trusted doctors working on the ground in Venezuela, bypassing political intermediaries. Both projects aim to strengthen medical assistance for thousands of people affected by the disaster in Guaira, Venezuela.
