Venezuela has inspected more than 30,000 buildings following the double earthquake of 24 June, of which about 190 structures collapsed. The inspections, coordinated by the presidential habitability programme “Venezuela Renace” and the College of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV), total roughly 12,000 assessments nationwide, including about 8,000 carried out directly by the CIV in Caracas. Over 70 % of the inspected edifices were rated habitable (green), while roughly 25 % fell into the yellow or red categories requiring caution or reconstruction.

Official casualty figures report at least 5,546 deaths, 16,740 injuries and 17,907 people displaced. The World Bank estimates direct physical damage at US$19.6 billion and warns that a slow reconstruction could hamper economic recovery. Cleanup operations in the hardest‑hit coastal state of La Guaira use two crusher trains that process an average of 2,250 tonnes of debris each day, cutting waste volume by about 80 %. More than 30,900 government officials and 31,000 volunteers have been deployed in rescue, de‑bris removal and relief distribution, including emergency brigades formed in Nueva Esparta and a charitable run that gathered eight tonnes of supplies for affected families.
