Italy: New support association launched and emergency rescue in Trento

In Martignacco, the social promotion association ‘Cuori di Luce’ has been established to provide psychological and practical support to victims and families affected by road accidents. Presented at the Regional Palace in Udine, the organization aims to offer a network of psychologists, lawyers, and volunteers to help individuals navigate the trauma and administrative complexities following a serious incident. The initiative was founded by Laura Sommaro, who sought to create the support system she personally required after losing her husband in a traffic accident.

In a separate incident in Trento, the Polizia di Stato successfully rescued a woman who attempted suicide by ingesting a large quantity of medication. After she retreated to her vehicle in the Alto Garda area, police used license plate recognition systems to locate the car. Officers found the woman unresponsive in the backseat, prompting an immediate emergency medical response and the deployment of a helicopter for stabilization.
