Venezuela earthquake survivors receive mental‑health support
A double earthquake struck Venezuela on 24 June, followed by aftershocks that reignited anxiety in Caracas and surrounding regions. Psychotherapist Libertad García responded by organizing a free virtual session titled “¿Cómo nos autorregulamos post sismo?” on 17 July, streamed via Telegram, to teach coping techniques for trauma and collective stress.
At the same time, the non‑profit Fundación Tierra Viva, together with partners Transformar 2030, TK Nela Teatro and GSLasalle, staged a theater‑and‑recreation day for children in the Morón area of Carabobo. The event aimed to help young victims process fear and uncertainty through play and drama, and also distributed menstrual‑hygiene kits to families in need.
Both initiatives highlight the growing focus on psychological and emotional recovery for communities still coping with the seismic disaster.
