Venezuela earthquake survivors search for missing relatives in La Guaira

Ten weeks after catastrophic back-to-back earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, families in the coastal area of La Guaira continue to search for missing relatives amidst the remaining rubble.

Antonella Molina, her nephew Pedro Molina, and a group of friends are searching for 18-year-old Andrés Molina. While the Venezuelan government has reported 6,500 dead and 1,500 missing, independent accounts suggest the number of missing persons may reach tens of thousands.

The family reports a lack of government support in locating the disappeared. Following the collapse of a 10-story apartment building that killed Andrés' mother and brother, the family has resorted to distributing flyers and searching shelters, hospitals, and morgues independently.
