Venezuela earthquake triggers large‑scale aid effort, including Polish parish donations
A powerful earthquake on 24 June 2026 struck Venezuela with magnitudes reported at 7.2 and 7.5. Official figures list more than 4,300 dead, over 16,700 injured and tens of thousands left homeless.
Regina Lynch, executive president of the international charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), called the situation “apocalyptic” after visiting the hardest‑hit regions. She confirmed that ACN will continue to provide emergency relief, psychological support and long‑term reconstruction assistance to local churches and communities.
In Poland, the parish of Fara Biecz announced a contribution of 3,052 zł to the Venezuelan victims, part of a broader fundraising drive that also supports local church projects. The parish’s collection follows a recent bank donation of 15,000 zł for its own investments.
