Valencia Independent Film Festival sets record with 277 entries

The fourth edition of the Valencia Independent Film Festival 2026 is set to begin, featuring a record-breaking 277 registered national film productions. The event is organized by the Government of Carabobo in collaboration with the National Autonomous Center of Cinematography (CNAC), the National Association of Cinematographic Authors (ANAC), and the Valencia Mayor's Office.

Scheduled to take place from October 14 to 16, the festival will expand its reach to municipalities including Guacara, Los Guayos, and San Joaquín. Various venues will host the event, such as the Museum of Culture, the Valencia Art Museum (MUVA), and the Alexis Mujica Living Arts Center (CAVAM).

Festival director Daniel Siugza noted that the high number of entries positions this as the most attended event of its kind in the country. Participation is led by the Capital District with 74 works, followed by Carabobo with 53 and Cojedes with 31. The festival will also include tributes to figures such as Freddy Siso and Luis Andrés Rodríguez.
