Venezuela football team to play friendly matches against Basque Country and Russia

The Venezuelan Football Federation has announced that the national football team, known as La Vinotinto, will play two friendly matches in November. The team is scheduled to face the Basque Country selection at San Mamés Stadium on November 14, followed by a match against Russia at Krasnodar Stadium on November 17.

These emergency fixtures follow the cancellation of planned matches against Honduras, Ecuador, or Costa Rica in the United States, reportedly due to migration-related complications.

The team is currently undergoing a transition period under head coach Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, who was officially appointed in January. Vizcarrondo is focused on restructuring the squad by balancing experienced players with new talent as the team prepares for the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.
