Venezuela gets more humanitarian aid flights from Puerto Rico, Uruguay

Venezuela's earthquake crisis, which has left at least 3,685 dead and 16,740 injured, prompted a second humanitarian airlift from Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican Department of State announced that a new plane carrying supplies donated by the island’s citizens departed on July 8, coordinated with Caritas Puerto Rico. This follows an earlier July 1 shipment of 4.5 tonnes that involved public officials, artists and non‑profits, with notable participants including baseball manager Yadier Molina.

The Uruguayan Air Force also dispatched a Hercules aircraft delivering 15 tonnes of medical equipment, hygiene products, powdered milk and other essentials. Uruguayan ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Public Health accompanied the mission, and a second flight is being prepared as donations continue to be collected. Both aid efforts aim to support the hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans displaced by the double‑earthquake disaster.
