Venezuela implements regional health initiatives in Aragua, La Guaira, and Zulia
Health authorities in Venezuela have launched targeted medical interventions across several states to improve public health and disease prevention.
In the municipalities bordering the Aragua and La Guaira states, specifically in Tovar, 16 vaccination brigades conducted house-to-house visits to administer 358 doses of the yellow fever vaccine. This epidemiological containment effort aims to protect residents in forested and mountainous areas where mosquito-borne risks are higher.
Simultaneously, in Zulia state, the National Surgical Plan provided specialized medical care to 151 patients over a one-week period. The operations were conducted across five public health centers and covered eight medical specialties, including general surgery, pediatric surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, oncology, and traumatology. The interventions included the placement of seven pacemakers.
