Venezuela launches digital apostille service to cut processing time

Acting President Delcy Rodríguez announced that Venezuela’s digital apostille service went live on 12 June, issuing more than 6,500 apostilles within two days. The new system reduces what previously took up to 45 days to near‑instant processing, part of a broader presidential commission to modernise administrative procedures using technology and artificial intelligence.

The Service Autonomous of Registries and Notaries (Saren), in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, has also upgraded its online portal so users can request electronic apostilles, select destination countries, pay digitally and download the certified documents immediately after payment. The rollout is intended to streamline civil and economic activities for Venezuelan citizens.
