Venezuela launches 'Venezuela Renace' recovery plan after June 24 earthquakes

On 13 July 2026 interim president Delcy Rodríguez chaired a plenary of the National Economic Council, joined by more than 600 representatives of public and private sectors, to present the strategic recovery programme “Venezuela Renace”. The plan seeks to preserve industrial output, secure logistics and sustain financial indicators that the government says remain solid despite the twin seismic events of 24 June.

Industry bodies Conindustria and Fedecámaras announced a complementary labour‑reinsertion initiative. They are conducting a detailed census of displaced workers and damaged businesses and are designing financing schemes to re‑allocate jobs. President of Conindustria Tito López said, “We are working on an agreement to relocate all Venezuelans who lost their jobs after the earthquakes,” and added that easing sanctions would facilitate international donations and credit for reconstruction. The sector reported no drug shortages and is prioritising medical‑surgical supplies for the recovery effort.
