Venezuela Ministry of Health announces Pink Month breast cancer prevention program

The Venezuelan Ministry of Popular Power for Health, through its National Oncology Directorate, has organized a strategic program for ‘Pink Month’ to promote breast cancer awareness and prevention. The initiative, scheduled to take place in Caracas from October 19 to October 23, involves a collaboration between various public and private entities, including the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, the Sociedad Anticancerosa de Venezuela, and several local municipalities.

The program includes mass awareness events at Plaza Caracas, scientific lectures at the University Hospital of Caracas to update medical protocols, and the deployment of mobile units to provide screening mammographies. These mobile services will be supported by the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) and the Institute of Social Welfare and Assistance for Ministry of Education personnel (Ipasme). The goal of these coordinated efforts is to improve early detection rates and increase survival outcomes for breast cancer patients nationwide.
