Venezuela national football team evaluates talent after Asian tour
The Venezuelan national football team, known as La Vinotinto, is evaluating its performance following a recent tour in Asia under coach Oswaldo Vizcarrondo. While the tour succeeded in expanding the player pool and integrating young talent, it highlighted critical deficiencies in offensive effectiveness and the ability to create clear goal-scoring opportunities.
Several young players have distinguished themselves and are expected to be included in future call-ups. These include defender Juan David Sánchez (Deportivo Táchira), winger Román Davis (Valencia CF), midfielder Marco Libra (Bologna FC), and midfielder Sebastián Mendoza (Carabobo FC).
To address the lack of natural right-wingers and offensive creativity, discussions have resurfaced regarding the potential return of Jefferson Savarino. Currently playing for Fluminense, Savarino recently became the first Venezuelan to score a hat-trick in the Brasileirão Serie A. Coach Vizcarrondo has indicated that players performing at a high level will have open doors to the national team, signaling a willingness to move past previous internal conflicts.
