Venezuela prepares delegation for 2026 Youth Olympic Games

The Venezuelan Ministry of People's Power for Sport and the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (COV) have held a technical meeting to organize the country's participation in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.

The Venezuelan delegation is expected to consist of 67 people, including 34 high-performance athletes, coaches, medical staff, and methodological personnel. Athletes will compete in 15 disciplines, including boxing, fencing, judo, swimming, athletics, cycling, and basketball 3x3, among others.

Participation slots were determined through direct invitations from international federations, the local organizing committee, and the International Olympic Committee. The mission will be led by COV Secretary General Katiuska Santaella, who has completed the pre-registration process for the athletes.
