Venezuela prepares for major athletic events and hiking expeditions

Venezuela is hosting several major athletic and outdoor events. The Caracas Rock 2026 race is expected to bring 17,000 national and international runners to east Caracas. This 25th edition of the Gatorade Caracas Rock follows a traditional 10-kilometer route along the Prados del Este highway and is part of the official calendar for World Athletics and the Venezuelan Athletics Federation. The event includes a prize pool exceeding $6,000 and a closing concert by the band Los Amigos Invisibles. Due to the race, significant road closures will affect the Prados del Este highway, Las Mercedes, and surrounding areas in Baruta starting Saturday night.

In the high valleys of Carabobo, organizers have announced a series of three hiking expeditions designed to promote sports and sustainable tourism. The cycle begins on October 17 with the 15K Aguirre – Bejuma trek. This is followed by the 18K Bella Vista – Temerla route on November 7, which connects the states of Carabobo and Yaracuy. The final event, the El Peñón route in Montalbán, will take place on December 5, featuring a 15-kilometer path through mountain landscapes, rivers, and viewpoints.
