Venezuela presidential elections may be delayed until 2028

Political analyst Luis Rendueles suggests that Venezuela's presidential elections may not take place until 2028. According to Rendueles, the national government has incentives to delay the process to reach the elections in better conditions.

While dialogue tables may produce progress regarding political guarantees and institutional agreements during the presidency led by Delcy Rodríguez, Rendueles does not expect these talks to result in an immediate electoral call. He notes that the government's strategy appears focused on gaining time to secure international recognition and economic stability before facing voters.
