Venezuela pursues energy alliances at African Energy Week and domestic Cepeg conference

Venezuela is expanding its energy diplomacy and domestic business engagement through two major upcoming events. A government delegation, including officials from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, will participate in the African Energy Week (AEW) in Cape Town from October 12 to 16. The mission aims to secure energy agreements with the African Energy Chamber (AEC) and attract capital for Venezuelan hydrocarbon projects. This follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the AEC and PDVSA regarding upstream exploration, refinery modernization, and the shipment of liquefied petroleum gas and bitumen to Africa.

Domestically, the second edition of the Energy, Oil, and Gas Conference (Cepeg) will take place in Maracaibo from October 15 to 17. Organized by the Zulia chapter of the Venezuelan Petroleum Chamber, the event will host 150 companies to showcase new technologies and foster business opportunities. The conference includes an exhibition area with over 100 stands and a job fair designed to support the sector's reactivation.
