Venezuela qualifies for Junior Tennis World Championship
Venezuela has qualified for the Junior Tennis World Championship for the first time in 27 years. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from November 2 to 8, 2026.
The qualification was secured during the South American Championship held at the América Tenis Club in Bogotá. Under the technical direction of coach Javier Lamas, the Venezuelan team included juniors Santiago González, Javier Sánchez, and Andrés Sánchez.
The decisive moment occurred in the doubles match against Argentina, where the duo of Santiago González and Andrés Sánchez won with scores of 7-5 and 6-1. To prepare for the global competition in Egypt, the trio will participate in a training tour across various South American countries.
