Venezuela receives prayers from Chilean and Turkish Catholic groups after June earthquakes

The Catholic Diocese of Copiapó in Chile announced a special Mass on July 12 to pray for Venezuela and to collect donations for Caritas Venezuela, responding to the two deadly earthquakes that struck the country on June 27.

The Prelature Mixe of María Auxiliadora, led by Bishop Salvador Murguía Villalobos, also joined the prayer effort, sending a letter of solidarity to the Archbishop of Caracas and the Venezuelan faithful, invoking the Virgin Mary and asking for comfort and aid for those affected by the seismic events.
