Venezuela celebrates medal success at South American Games

Venezuelan athletes have returned home following a successful performance at the XIII South American Games in Santa Fe. The delegation achieved significant results across multiple disciplines, contributing to Venezuela's fourth-place standing in the overall medal table.

In swimming, Lismar Lyon emerged as a standout performer, securing three gold medals. She set a new record in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.13 seconds, surpassing the previous record held by Colombia's Isabella Arcilla. Lyon also earned gold in the 50 and 100-meter butterfly events.

Other notable achievements include Laura Oses winning the first individual gold medal in the history of South American boccia, and Naryury Pérez securing gold in weightlifting (+86 kg category). In track cycling, the national team earned one silver and two bronze medals, including a bronze in the women's team pursuit and another in the women's team sprint.
