Venezuela selects wrestling and judo teams for Santa Fe 2026

Venezuela has finalized its rosters for wrestling and judo ahead of the XIII South American Games in Santa Fe 2026.

The wrestling team aims to secure a fourth consecutive title, following successful campaigns in Santiago de Chile 2014, Cochabamba 2018, and Asunción 2022. The squad features veteran Greco-Roman wrestler Luillys Pérez, who seeks his third consecutive South American title in the 97 kg category. The team is looking to build upon its recent performances in the Bolivarian Games and the Central American and Caribbean Games.

In judo, the Venezuelan Federation has selected a roster led by prominent female athletes, including two-time Olympian Anriquelis Barrios and Karen León. Barrios and Elvismar Rodríguez are both seeking to defend titles won during the 2022 Asunción games. The men's team will be led by Pan American champion Willis García. These athletes are competing as part of the current Olympic cycle leading toward Los Angeles 2028.
