Venezuela Takes Team Gold in Shooting at 2026 Central American Games

At the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, the Venezuelan shooting team captured the gold medal in the 10‑meter air pistol event. The trio of Douglas Gómez, Diego Oduber Medina and Rafael Ochoa posted a combined score of 1,683 points, edging out Mexico by a single point and leaving Guatemala in third place.

In the individual competition, Diego Oduber earned a silver medal with a total of 232.2 points, while Mexico’s David Valdez won gold and Colombia’s Sebastián Sánchez took bronze. Mexico’s team, featuring Carlos González, Daniel Urquiza and David Valdez, secured the silver medal with 1,682 points.

The event was part of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games hosted by the Dominican Republic, highlighting the close rivalry among the participating nations in the shooting discipline.
