Venezuela U19 women's volleyball team defeats Peru in friendly

The Venezuelan U19 women's national volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against Peru in a friendly match held in Maracaibo. The match, played at the Dr. Antonio Borjas Romero Gymnasium, served as vital preparation for the upcoming U19 South American Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Zulia from October 5 to 12.

Venezuela's victory included set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 23-25, and 25-18 (or 25-16, per varying reports). The event drew a significant crowd of over two thousand fans, marking a return of international sports competitions to the city after 19 years.

National team coach Yanni Capuzzi noted that the match provided necessary adjustments and helped evaluate players ahead of the official tournament. The South American Championship offers three direct qualifying spots for the FIVB World Championship. Venezuela is expected to continue its preparation with upcoming matches against Bolivia and Argentina before their official debut against Uruguay on October 7.
