Venezuela utility crises: Power and water shortages reported
Residents in various parts of Venezuela are facing prolonged shortages of essential services. In Acarigua, residents near the intersection of Calle 30 and Avenida 29 have reported being without electricity for 15 consecutive days following the simultaneous failure of two transformers. Affected families and local businesses have requested that Corpoelec implement a temporary reconnection or bridge to an operational transformer, noting they lack the private funds to replace the damaged equipment.
In Caracas, inhabitants of sectors including Catia, Caricuao, El Paraíso, Montalbán, and 23 de Enero are denouncing a continuing water crisis. Despite announcements from the Ministry of Water (MinAguas) and Hidroven regarding the completion of optimization works on the Tuy III System, many neighborhoods report they have gone more than 13 days without water service. Residents have expressed frustration with official communications, stating that promised restorations have not materialized in their communities.
