Venezuela women's baseball team rises to fourth in WBSC world rankings
The Venezuela women's national baseball team has risen to fourth place in the latest world rankings released by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). This advancement follows the team's performance at the 2026 Women's Baseball World Cup in Tainan, where they finished with a record of four wins and one loss, securing a spot in the 2027 finals.
With a total of 1,248 points, Venezuela moved up one position, overtaking Chinese Taipei. The top five global rankings are currently held by Japan in first place, the United States in second, Canada in third, Venezuela in fourth, and Chinese Taipei in fifth. Japan remains the dominant force in the sport, holding seven world titles.
The ranking update incorporates results from the recent group stages of the World Cup. Other notable movements include Australia rising to seventh place and the Philippines climbing ten positions to reach eleventh.
