Venezuela women's baseball team to debut in World Championship qualifiers
The Venezuelan women's national baseball team is preparing to travel to Tainan, Chinese Taipei, to compete for a spot in the 2027 World Baseball Championship Super Final. The tournament begins on August 22, where Venezuela will make its debut against Great Britain.
Following the opening match, the team is scheduled to face the host nation on August 24. On August 25, they will play a double header against Japan in the afternoon and Cuba in the evening. The qualifying round will conclude on August 26 against the Philippines. The three teams with the best records in Tainan will advance to the final stage, which will be held in Rockford, Illinois, in July 2026.
Led by manager Cindy Anzola, the 20-player roster includes Abril Amaro, Migreily Angulo, Srishna Arciniega, Kimberly Caicedo, Yohelis Colina, Mariangeles Durán, Oriana Farías, Gabriela García, Frandelis García, Victoria Heredia, Oriannys Hernández, Gabriela Jiménez, Marisol Managua, María Marcano, María Meza, Mariana Natera, María Salcedo, Stephany Suárez, Yenny Tovar, and Marlyn Yéndez. Venezuela earned its place in this stage after winning last year's Pan American Championship.
