Deyna Castellanos equalised in the 58th minute, following an early goal by Uruguay captain Pamela González. The result secured Venezuela’s third‑place finish in the CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League, guaranteeing a repechage berth alongside Ecuador.

The match was part of the final league round that also saw Colombia defeat Paraguay 4‑3, Argentina beat Ecuador 1‑0 and Peru rout Bolivia 4‑0, determining the region’s direct World Cup qualifiers (Colombia and Argentina) and the two teams heading to the repechage (Venezuela and Ecuador).
