Venezuelan agencies provide vehicle aid and banking services after quake

The National Institute of Land Transport (Intt) set up a mobile unit in La Guaira to restore lost vehicle documents for residents affected by the June 24 earthquake. Operating for 30 days, the service helped individuals such as Ángel Lozano and Oscar Rodríguez renew driving licences and process vehicle deregistration.

In the Guayana Esequiba region, a banking outreach organised by the Digital Workers' Bank, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Integrated Tax Administration allowed about 900 entrepreneurs in Las Claritas to open personal and corporate accounts, update tax registrations and receive commercial licences. Governor Neil Villamizar announced the programme, saying, “Nuestro objetivo es empoderar al pueblo de Guayana Esequiba, dándole las herramientas y las oportunidades de avanzar en sus emprendimientos y de desarrollarse en cualquier área.” The initiative aims to energise tourism, gastronomy, mining and commerce in the area.
