Venezuelan Agriculture Minister Padrino López Says Food Supplies Secured After June Earthquakes
Vladimir Padrino López, Venezuela's minister of Agriculture, Productive Lands and Territories, told reporters that the country has "full food supplies guaranteed" following the double earthquake on 24 June. He said the national agro‑industry is operating with all inputs and that the winter‑2026 corn sowing is proceeding without technical problems.
The minister emphasized the government's priority of providing integral assistance to families living in temporary camps set up after the seismic events. He described the camps, such as the one at Liceo Andrés Bello in Caracas housing 96 displaced families, as centres for recreation and cultural activities for children while reconstruction of school infrastructure continues. He noted that President (acting) Delcy Rodríguez is personally involved and that the executive remains on the ground to help families return home.
