Venezuelan authorities boost water supply and sewage services in Monagas and Sucre

The Ministry of Popular Power for Water (MinAguas), together with Hidroven and the Monagas state government, completed a series of hydraulic infrastructure works that reactivated deep wells, installed high‑capacity pumps and increased the flow into Maturín's water network by an initial 60 L/s, later adding another 139 L/s. The upgrades provide continuous potable water to more than 1,600 households, schools and small businesses across Maturín and surrounding parishes, reducing reliance on tank trucks and cutting operating costs for local merchants.

In the neighboring state of Sucre, Hidroven and the municipal public‑services department of Arismendi carried out corrective maintenance on the sewage system in the Río Caribe parish. Using a vacuum truck and high‑pressure suction equipment, crews cleared blockages in multiple neighborhoods, including 12 de Abril, Zea, Anzoátegui and Cerro El Toro, to prevent contamination and improve sanitation for residents and traders.

Both initiatives aim to enhance public health and support local economies by ensuring reliable water supply and proper wastewater management.
