Venezuelan barbers offer free haircuts to aid earthquake relief

Following the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June, Venezuelan barber Edimber Rodríguez provided complimentary haircuts to members of the Salvadoran Search and Rescue team in La Guaira. He said “Favor con favor se paga” and the rescue workers shared food and thanks for the hospitality.

Barbers and stylists in Ciudad Guayana organized a second charitable haircut day on 12 July, offering services in exchange for pediatric medicines, toys and other supplies for children affected by the quakes. Juan Carlos Luna emphasized that the aim was “to give joy to the children in the middle of all the sadness” and Caritas Venezuela helped distribute the collected aid.
