Venezuelan Central Bank Meets IMF Team to Boost Economic Stabilization

The Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV) hosted a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss monetary and exchange‑rate policy and to deepen technical assistance. The central bank said the IMF mission is a "fundamental pillar for consolidating the macro‑economic stabilization process" and reaffirmed its commitment to technical dialogue and the normalisation of international relations.

The talks come as Venezuela continues reconstruction after the June 24 earthquakes that killed more than 5,500 people, injured 16,740 and left about 18,000 homeless, with damage estimates of $19.6 billion. Relations with the IMF, suspended in 2019, were restored in April, and the mission aims to enable future access to IMF financing for recovery and broader economic recovery.
