Venezuelan Charity Run Launches to Support Earthquake‑Displaced Families
A charity race called “Corremos por Venezuela” is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, starting at 7:00 a.m. from the Monolitos de Los Próceres in Caracas. The event, coordinated by the Ministry of Popular Power for Sport and supported by security agencies, aims to raise supplies for families living in 107 temporary camps created after the twin earthquakes on June 24. The Ministry cited the involvement of Hipereventos, which will provide logistical assistance, and highlighted the security plan led by General Américo Villegas, involving police forces from Baruta, Miranda, and Caracas.
The race is promoted as a “kilometers with purpose” initiative, seeking to improve the lives of displaced residents through physical activity and recreation while collecting needed resources.
