Venezuelan Cycling Federation hosts national championships in Trujillo

The Venezuelan Cycling Federation is organizing two parallel national championships in Trujillo state to prepare athletes for upcoming international competitions. These events serve as technical evaluations for delegations aiming to compete in the 2026 South American Games in Santa Fe and the 2027 Parapan American Games in Lima.

The National Road Cycling Championship, scheduled for September 3–6 in Valera, will feature 60 cyclists from 22 states, including Táchira, Mérida, and Distrito Capital. This competition acts as a performance metric ahead of an event in Argentina set for mid-September.

Simultaneously, a national adapted cycling championship will take place from September 2–6. This event is critical for para-cyclists from various states, such as Barinas and Zulia, to accumulate points in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) nation rankings, a necessary step for qualification for the 2027 Pan American Games.
