Venezuelan football authorities condemn violence in domestic leagues
The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), Zamora Fútbol Club, and Deportivo Lara have issued statements condemning a fatal act of violence in Barinas. A fan, identified as Luis Rafael López, was killed near the Agustín Tovar stadium prior to a Liga FUTVE 2 match. In response, the FVF has activated disciplinary bodies and established a channel for reports, maintaining a policy of zero tolerance for criminal acts in sports venues. The match between Zamora B and Deportivo Lara has been indefinitely suspended pending judicial and administrative decisions.
Separately, Aragua FC and Carabobo FC have rejected a physical altercation that occurred on the pitch following a Sub-21 Liga FUTVE Junior match. Both clubs expressed concern over the incident, noting that such aggression contradicts the values of youth development and fair play. While the origin of the fight remains unclear, the clubs have reaffirmed their commitment to respect and sportsmanship within the national football environment.
