Venezuelan jockeys compete in major US horse racing events

Venezuelan jockeys are making significant appearances in major American horse racing events. Francisco Arrieta, the recent Ellis Park meeting champion, will ride Banishing in the 18th edition of the $1 million Charles Town Classic (G2) in West Virginia on August 28, 2026. Banishing seeks to defend its title against rivals such as Skippylongstocking.

At Gulfstream Park in Florida, Venezuelan jockey Samy Camacho is competing for the top spot in the summer meeting statistics. Camacho currently leads in earnings and is tied for the most wins. He is scheduled to participate in the Benny The Bull Handicap riding Back Em Up and the Bear’s Den Stakes riding Move Jesse Move. Other Venezuelan professionals, including Edgar Pérez and Leonel Reyes Romos, are also featured in the upcoming race card.
