Venezuelan military seizes 20 cocaine packages at Apure border

Military agents of the Venezuelan National Guard detained two motorcyclists carrying 20 packages of cocaine, about 10.6 kg in total, at the La Victoria citizen service point in José Antonio Páez municipality, Apure state, on the frontier with Colombia. The drugs were hidden in double‑bottom compartments on the motorcycles.

In a related operation in Casigua El Cubo, Zulia state, GNB personnel captured a woman who had internally concealed 50 dediles of cocaine, weighing roughly 580 g. The authorities also reported a large seizure in Táchira, where 262 kg of illicit substances, three suspects and three vehicles were seized during a series of anti‑drug actions.

Overall, the operations underscore an intensified anti‑narcotics effort by Venezuela’s security forces along its borders.
